AveriStar Consulting was founded in 2007 by Mark and Matt Averi, two brothers who have worked together for the last 15 years. Mark’s area of expertise has always been the sales, marketing and business development sector, whereas Matt is the consummate engineer who is always researching, learning about and applying new technology. Matt and Mark have always shared a passion for technology and this passion led them to venture out on their own to spread their knowledge with others.

After working in the fiber optic and test communications field for 7 years, the Averi brothers decided to change their focus into a new and upcoming field involving Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP).  Mark worked for a start-up company in New Hampshire where they used SIP-based soft clients to replace hardware modem banks.  Matt became a sales engineer for BroadSoft, a cutting-edge, software-based feature server provider out of Gaithersburg, MD and was responsible for 30 of their platforms.  Mark then took a job at Lucent Technologies where he sold the BroadSoft feature server as one part of the entire VoIP network being sold to companies in the Midwest region.  Mark’s unique knowledge of the BroadSoft platform made him a prime choice when BroadSoft was seeking their next Director of Sales for the Southeast region and he excelled in this position.  Two years later, Matt and Mark were both sought after to assist a start-up company with their relatively new BroadSoft platform.  This experience enabled them to see the “other side” of the business.  There are a multitude of choices to make when building a VoIp network: session boarder controllers, gateways, end user devices, and many other pieces that all have to work together to make the offering successful.  We assisted in putting all of these parts together, both on an engineering level and a sales and marketing level.  This is where we saw our true calling: assisting other platform owners in not only engineering and creating offerings, but training each customer based on their unique, individual needs.  Often, selling deals is considered to be the hardest part of driving new business, however we have found that to be the simple part.  We have discovered that there is a great need for someone to bridge the gaps in the customer’s knowledge of the platform and how it works.  We have made it our mission to effectively train each customer on the platform and teach them to apply what we have taught them in such a way that they are able to retain it and utilize it for the benefit of their company. AveriStar was formed solely to take on such a task.

AveriStar Consulting provides expertise to BroadSoft platform owners focusing on engineering, training, and platform management. Our engineering practice assists in feature deployment and troubleshooting, to include all elements of the VoIP network.  We pride ourselves on our customized training catalog to include training at our facility in Charlotte or customer premises.  AveriStar provides students with a unique learning experience that is totally customized for your network and service offering, whether in your classroom or ours. All onsite training includes customized electronic course material and applications that can be downloaded prior to the class and distributed throughout your organization.  Training also includes our Stars Multimedia Training Videos which cover all native BroadWorks portals and client applications, custom portals, and applications offered by the service provider.   Platform Management is our newest service used by customers who need a helping hand with everyday maintenance and upkeep of their VoIP Network.
